ThermaCare® HeatWraps are made of soft layers of comfortable material that contain patented heat cell technology, using the heat generating ingredients of iron, charcoal, salt and water that react on contact with oxygen to produce heat. Safety Warning
As with any heat product, care should always be taken when using ThermaCare®, so here are a few safety tips to keep in mind when using the product. ThermaCare should not be used: with medicated ointments, plasters or other forms of heat on broken or damaged skin on areas of bruising or swelling that have occurred within the last 48 hours on areas of the body where heat cannot be felt by persons who cannot remove the product on their own. Heat products have the potential to cause skin irritation or burns, so to reduce this risk, make sure not to wear the product for more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period. If you are 55 or over, wear ThermaCare over a layer of clothing and do not wear whilst sleeping. If you have diabetes, poor circulation, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis or are pregnant, make sure to consult a doctor or pharmacist before using ThermaCare® HeatWraps. Remove ThermaCare before undergoing any MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures to avoid increased risk of burns. Remove Thermacare If cell contents leak and/or wrap is damaged or torn Other tips: When using this product: If you experience skin redness after removing the wrap, we recommend: 1.wearing for a shorter period of time 2.wearing looser clothing over wrap 3.wearing over a thin layer of clothing Periodically check your skin : If your skin is sensitive to heat. If the product feels too hot - stop use. To learn your tolerance to heat, wear during the day before deciding to use while sleeping. If you are 55 or older, wear ThermaCare over a layer of clothing, and do not use while sleeping. DO NOT wear a tight-fitting belt/waistband over the product. Stop use and ask a doctor : If after 7 days pain gets worse or is unchanged or you experience any skin irritation.
