Beta alanine is a non-essential amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. When you eat protein, your body breaks it down into amino acids. Those amino acids are then used to repair and grow new muscle fibres.
Unlike other amino acids, Beta Alanine is not used by your body to synthesise proteins. Instead, together with histidine, it produces carnosine which is stored in your skeletal muscles. Directions
