Who needs protein - and how much?

Protein is important for all people, regardless of age and gender. Proteins are important for everyone, but especially for: Active, children, anyone who wants to lose weight and seniors. Proteins should be taken all day long. Every 3 hours, the body can take and use a meal with up to 24 g of protein. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends a daily intake of at least 0.8 g of protein per kilogram of body weight.

Protein is important.

A protein consists of amino acids. Some amino acids are produced by the body itself, while others are supplied with the food.

Of the 20 amino acids, there are nine that your body cannot produce itself, but must absorb through food. These are essential amino acids. Three of these essential amino acids are referred to as branched-chain amino acids or BCAA. BCAA includes these three essential amino acids: Leucine, valine and isoleucine. Protein is therefore important because it contributes to the maintenance and building of muscle mass.

Athletes.

If you are physically very active and train a lot, protein is extra important both before and after training. When you have completed an intense workout, it will increase the protein synthesis rate of your muscles for the duration of up to 48 hours after the end of training. However, this is counteracted by increasing muscle protein breakdown. It is therefore important to add extra protein to ensure that the overall muscle protein balance is positive. This is very important for building muscle mass.

Weight loss.

Protein promotes fat burning and metabolism. Among the various nutrients consumed, the protein utilization takes up most of the energy, which is a saving on the calorie account. In addition, the protein intake contributes to the maintenance and even building muscle mass - even with weight loss.

Children.

Protein is very important for the growth and development of children, especially as it helps to maintain and build their muscles, as it promotes the development of their brain and bones. Protein is a building block of the body and brain that children absolutely need. Many children prefer very one-sided food. Here whitePRO is very easy to use in different dishes, as it can be easily added to the dishes that children love with its neutral taste.

Seniors - age powerfully.

Ageing is an inevitable process when you grow older. This is especially true for the reduction of muscle mass, but this can be counteracted by regular movement and healthy food. Research findings indicate that ageing muscles are less sensitive to protein intake than younger muscles. That's why seniors should take more protein than younger age groups. This is an instant challenge, especially since the appetite decreases with age. This means that seniors do not get enough protein.
